Millstream Speedway

This 3/8 mile dirt oval race track reopened in 2015 after closing in 2011. A group of local businessmen created this track in 1954. Over the next 45 years, it changed hands a few times before closing down in 1999. Nine years later, the facility reopened with a limited schedule in 2008. It closed abruptly in July 2011. It held a few ATV races in 2012. NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon won his first open-wheel race here in 1985 at the age of 13.

Randy and Lisa Hammer from nearby Fremont took over track operations in October 2014 and did quite a lot of work cleaning up and repairing the neglected facility in the months leading up to the 2015 racing season. After the first three events were rained out, it held a successful grand reopening on July 5, 2015 with a special visit from the travelling All Star sprint car series. Randy Hammer is a former sprint car driver and has owned a race team after hanging up the helmet.
