Held annually over the Labor Day holiday weekend, the US Nationals is unarguably the most prestigious drag racing event in the world. Google captured Day 2 of the six-day event on Thursday, August 29th.
All of the race teams are in the pit area, but the weekday races do not sell many tickets. Thousands of race fans show up for the Friday-Monday races. The final day of the 2012 event was rained out (I was there), forcing it to be postponed until the following weekend.
Tony Schumacher won his record 9th career US Nationals title in the Top Fuel dragster class. Mike Neff won the Funny Car trophy for the second year in a row. Dave Connolly won the Pro Stock class, while Andrew Hines took the motorcycle class trophy. Several other lower classes compete throughout the weekend.
