On 8/26/21 at 17:50 local time, during the evacuation from Afghanistan, a suicide bombing occurred near Abbey Gate at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul. Shortly after, a second bombing occurred several dozen meters away. At least 103 people were killed in the attacks, including 13 US service members, who were the first American military casualties in Afghanistan since February 2020.
