2022 – IOM Airport Incident

On the morning of Thursday 16th June 2022, the IOM Airport, Ronaldsway, was closed for most of the morning and all arrivals and departures were cancelled.

It was reported that the incident arose following a security alert on a baggage scanner and that safety protocols required that the airport be evacuated whilst the ‘suspicious package’ was assessed.

The emergency services also closed roads on the airport perimeter causing major traffic problems during the morning rush hour.
