Isuzu Hombre

The Isuzu Hombre was built to replace the outgoing Isuzu Pick Up in 1996; this time, it was a badge-engineered Brazilian Chevrolet S-10 built in Shreveport, Louisiana. Two trim levels were offered for the Hombre, which were the bare-bones S and the more upscale XS, which had extras such as better quality interior fabric, a cassette tape deck, tachometer, sliding rear window, and a 60/40 seatback. It had less options than the S-10 and were limited as well; the SpaceCab extended cab, V6, and 4-wheel drive were introduced in 1997, but discontinued in 1998, leaving it RWD-only and 4-cylinder only until 2000, in which the 4.3 liter V6 made a comeback, but then was discontinued shortly after due to slow sales. This marked Isuzu's temporary exit from the pickup truck market until 2006 with the i-Series, which was also a rebadged Chevrolet; this time, it was the Colorado.
