The estate was built in 1926 by architect Wallace Neff.

In 2007, real estate mogul David Margulies bought it for $15.6 Million.

The house was listed in 2012 for $18.5 Million.

In 2013 it was sold for $16.5 Million to it's current owners - Peter Dent and Susan Purvis-Dent, owners of Controlex Corp.

The home was commissioned in 2016 by Columbia Pictures founder Harry Cohn. He chose Wallace Neff to design the home, who had designed the home of Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford, Pickfair. The home was later owned by Betty Grable and her husband, bandleader Harry James.
