USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77) is the tenth and last Nimitz class supercarrier of the United States Navy. She is named for former President George H. W. Bush, who was a naval aviator during World War II. George H. W. Bush is to be the final Nimitz class aircraft carrier constructed; her successor will be Gerald R. Ford, the first of a new class.

NORFOLK (May 11, 2011) The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) departs Naval Station Norfolk for its maiden deployment. George H.W. Bush, the Navy's newest aircraft carrier, deployed as part of the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility.
