Faulkes Bridge spans the Ashby Canal with a concrete arch with a brick parapet and abutments. The bridge carries a track over the canal. The track bed over the bridge is made from concrete.

Currently [November 2016] this is the last bridge on the Ashby Canal. It was re-instated in 2015 and marks the northern end of the Ashby Canal.

There is a 50-foot (15-meter) winding hole just beyond the bridge to the north.

Winding holes were used on British Canals to turn narrow boats with the assistance of the wind blowing on the superstructure. Winding holes are areas of the canal where there is a notch in the non- towpath bank which allows narrowboats to spin on their own axis.
