747 With Collapsed Landing Gear

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (AE)
This is a Boeing 747-230F (F meaning freighter/cargo) registered TF-ARR. At the time of its accident, it was owned by Lufthansa and operated by Air Atlanta Icelandic (and carried Air Atlanta titles).

On November 7, 2004, TF-ARR was scheduled to fly Lufthansa Flight DLH8457 from Sharjah (SHJ) to Frankfurt (FRA). It spooled up and taxied to runway 30 for takeoff. However, during takeoff, the crew experienced a 'Bang' and the ATC observed smoke coming out of the right side of the plane. The pilots decided to abort the takeoff, but they were too far down the runway. The plane rolled off of the runway and the nose gear collapsed. All 4 on board were unharmed.

Note that the shadow in the satellite imagery is tilted, showing that the nose gear was still collapsed at the time of the photo.
