Grand Prairie's lifeless hospital appears to be on the road to a full recovery.
Renaissance Healthcare Systems Inc. announced Tuesday that it plans to buy and renovate the former Dallas/Fort Worth Medical Center, and reopen it as a community hospital in February. The one-time not-for-profit hospital closed in November 2000 after years of financial problems. It's the city's lone hospital.
