Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was an Iraqi-born militant and the leader of the organization known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). He died on 26 OCT 2019 after detonating a suicide vest during a U.S. Special Forces raid on his compound.
