The Acura Integra Type-R was the first Type-R badged vehicle from Honda to arrive on U.S. shores, and remained the only Type-R bound for the U.S. market until the American release of the Honda Civic Type-R for 2017. At the time of its introduction in 1997, it was the most powerful car in terms of horsepower per liter (108 hp per liter). Up to the DC2 Integra's discontinuation in 2001, 3,823 Integra Type Rs were built. The 1999 model year was skipped for this model.
