Al Wajbah Fort

Ar-Rayyān, Qatar (QA)

Al Wajbah is considered the oldest fort in Qatar. It derives its historical importance from being the ground for a famous battle in which the Qatari people defeated the Ottoman forces in 1893, and from being the residence of Sheikh Hamad Bin Abdullah Al Thani at various periods.

Impossible to visit. It is inside military zone and it is a waste of time trying to go there. You are received by a very umpleasant man with machine gun and sent back.
