This house belonged to the late Alan Purwin, the owner of Helinet Aviation, which is a diversified helicopter-transportation provider. He founded West Coast Helicopters in 1987, which was subsequently merged with Helinet Corporation to form Helinet Aviation.
He also owns Shotover, developer of the world's first ultra HD aerial camera system for motion picture and television productions, which was used in films such as Transformers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and X-Men.
Alan Purwin, together with Steve Gatena, founded VideoFort, producer of HD and 4K royalty-free footage.
He died in a small plane crash on the set of a film (Mena) in Colombia on 11 Sep, 2015.
