Alan Ritchson is an American actor, model, singer, and songwriter born on November 28, 1982, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, who grew up in Niceville, Florida as the son of a U.S. Air Force chief master sergeant. Before turning to acting he worked as a model for brands including Abercrombie & Fitch and Nike, and made a memorable appearance on the third season of American Idol, before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue an entertainment career. He made his acting debut playing Aquaman on the long-running CW superhero series Smallville, a recurring role he reprised across multiple seasons between 2005 and 2010, marking the first officially licensed live-action portrayal of the character. He went on to star in the Spike TV football comedy Blue Mountain State from 2010 to 2011, played the tribute Gloss in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in 2013, and voiced and performed Raphael in the 2014 and 2016 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films.
