Alexandre Burrows

Vancouver Canucks forward Alexandre Burrows appears on a large banner hanging outside of the Rogers Arena.

Burrows was not selected in the NHL draft and began his career in the lower minor leagues in 2002. He honed his game for over three seasons in the ECHL and AHL minor leagues before making his debut with Vancouver in January 2006. As of February 2015, he has played his entire NHL career with the Canucks. Although he is known as a gritty, defensive forward, he has had four seasons with over 25 goals.

Before earning a spot in the NHL, he was an accomplished ball hockey player. He would compete in national and international tournaments in the summer, which kept him in shape during the ice hockey offseason. In 2005, he was named the International Ball Hockey Player of the Year. He has been inducted to the Canadian Ball Hockey Hall of Fame and the International Ball Hockey Hall of Fame.
