Allianz Arena is a world-famous football stadium located in Munich, Germany, on the city’s northern edge near the Fröttmaning U-bahn station. It opened in May 2005 and was designed by the architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron. The stadium is renowned for its distinctive exterior of inflated ETFE plastic panels that can be dynamically lit in different colors — red for FC Bayern Munich, blue for TSV 1860 Munich (when playing), and white for the German national team or other events — giving it a striking presence both day and night.

It was one of the primary venues for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, including group stage matches, a Round of 16 game, and a quarterfinal.

We have visited the stadium in October 2012 and booked a guided tour. In my opinion the best stadium in Germany.
