Amerigo Vespucci is a school ship of Italian Navy, one of the two ordered in 1925. The first one, Christoforo Colombo, was commissioned in 1928 and Amerigo Vespucci in 1931. After World War II, Christoforo Colombo was handed over to the USSR as part of the war reparations and was shortly afterwards decommissioned but Amerigo Vespucci is still in active service.
