Grand duchess Anastasia Mecklembourg Schwerin was granddaughter of Czar Nicolas I of Russia and sister of the Grand Duke Michel.

The Grand duchess built this home in 1889 and called it Villa Wenden, re-named Villa Le Rouveafter her death in 1923. Today, the villa is divided into luxury apartments.
