The aqueduct is located in the province of Mersin in modern-day Turkey. The aqueduct had two periods of construction. The first one being in the 1st and 2nd centuries by the Roman Empire and then the second was in the 5th or 6th century by the Byzantine Empire.

The total length of the aqueduct was 15 km. Only a small section of the aqueduct remains today.
