On Sunday 3rd July 2022 JJ1PIG/1 a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Arayama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 7 contacts in total working on the 70cm UHF amateur radio band.
The summit of Arayama is 1572 metres (5157 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
