This is the Westport, CT home of Arthur C Tauck Jr. He is Chairman of the Board at Tauck, Inc., which was founded in 1925 and is based in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Arthur C. Tauck, Jr. is a true visionary in the $514 billion-dollar world tourism industry. Mr. Tauck served as President of Tauck Tours since 1958. He joined his father's business part-time as a tour director in 1950. In 1958, when he took over the reigns of his family's tour business, the company offered just six itineraries on the East Coast and carried approximately 2,000 travelers per year. By the late 1950s, when air travel was still in its infancy, Mr. Tauck struck on the idea of combining air travel with motorcoach tours. Tauck guests, he envisioned, could easily fly to a faraway destination, and then enjoy an in-depth, luxury motorcoach tour of the region. In 1958, he introduced the first-ever chartered air/motorcoach tour packages. A year later, Mr. Tauck linked the National Parks of the American West by using air and motorcoaches, at a time when the rest of the travel industry was still relying entirely on rail. In subsequent years, he continued to innovate. During a winter helicopter skiing trip to the Bugaboo range, Mr. Tauck was amazed to learn that the remote mountain ski lodge where he was staying sat idle and unoccupied during the summer months - despite the area's obvious scenic beauty. Mr. Tauck persuaded the owner of several area lodges that he could deliver paying customers in summer months, and he promptly did so by offering “Heli-Hiking.” In 1991, he launched the “Yellow Roads of Europe” series, named for the less-traveled scenic routes (marked in yellow on European road maps) that Arthur recalled from his time spent abroad in the Air Force. Mr. Tauck serves as Chairman of Tauck, Inc. In this position, he oversees all three entities and helps guide the companies' overall strategy and direction.

Mr. Tauck served as President of both the United States Tour Operators Association and the National Tour Association, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Travel Industry Association of America. He currently chairs Tourism Cares For Tomorrow, and is a Trustee and Vice Chairman of The Travel Institute. Mr. Tauck is also the Chairman of the Tauck Foundation, the family's philanthropic entity. His Honors & Awards : 2002 Atlas Lifetime Achievement Award - Association of Travel Marketing Executives (ATME), 2002 Onore de Amerigo Vespucci Award - Traveling Times, 1999 Faces of Achievement Award - Westport, CT YMCA, 1997 L-in-Life Award - Lehigh University, 1995 Lehigh University, College of Business Admin., Marketing Achievement Award, 1990 Inducted into Hall of Fame - American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), 1988 Inducted into Hall of Leaders - Travel Industry Association of America (TIA) and 1986 Travel Industry Award of the Year - The New School. Mr. Tauck attended Lehigh University. After he graduated, he a had tour of duty in the Air Force.

His home, located in the Saugatuck Shores neighborhood of Westport, is currently valued at $3,736,700.

He took over the reins. Good grief.
