The Atlanta International Pop Festival was a rock festival held in a soyben field from July 3–5, 1970. Notable acts were: The Allman Brothers Band, Grand Funk Railroad, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, B.B. King, Mountain, Procol Harum, Bob Seger and Johnny Winter

Of note: Jimi Hendrix played in front of the largest American audience of his career. He played his famous version of "The Star Spangled Banner" on the Fourth of July.
