A framed 1998 Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup Final jersey signed by Hall of Fame center Steve Yzerman hangs on the wall of the Hockeytown Cafe. The Wings won the Stanley Cup that season by sweeping the Washington Capitals in four games.

Yzerman (born May 9, 1965) spent his entire pro hockey career with Detroit (1983-2006). In 1514 regular season games, he scored 692 goals and 1063 assists. He served as the team's captain for an NHL record 1303 games. In 2009, he was selected to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Soon after retiring, he served in the Red Wings front office as a vice president. After being hired to assemble the 2010 Canadian Olympic team that eventually won the gold medal, he would become the General Manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
