On Sunday 3rd July 2022 Jiho DS5SQS a radio amateur from South Korea reached the summit of Baekseoksan and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 15 contacts in total working on the 40 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Baekseoksan is 1365 metres (4478 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
