Beacon Rock Mansion (Birds Eye)
Beacon Rock, consisting of 8 and ½ private acres with over 2, 000 feet of Benton Cove and Newport Harbor frontage, commands a panorama of views reaching to downtown Newport, the Newport Bridge and Fort Adams State Park.

The landscaped grounds were originally designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed Central Park, the pearl necklace surrounding Boston and numerous other parks and residences throughout the country. The home was designed and built by McKim, Mead, and White. The home's original owner was Edwin D. Morgan, brother of J.P. Morgan. It was later owned by Felix de Weldon, the Austrian-American sculptor, best known for the Iwo Jima Memorial sculpture in Washington, DC.
