BMW M3 E92

BMW M3 E92

Itako, Japan (JP)
The BMW 3-series became available in coupe form one year after the sedan; in 2006 for the 2007 model year. Visible differences included headlights that are more steeply angled and taillights shaped like an 'L'. It even was originally planned to become part of the 4-Series with the 3-series coupes and convertibles (i.e., the "M4" of the time), but due to the venerable nameplate, such change was shelved. Its S65 4-liter V8 was able to produce 414 horsepower at 8300 RPM and was the lightest of the three body styles available for this generation of the M3, weighing at 3,649 pounds, and therefore has a very slight performance advantage over the convertible (4.8 second 0-60 time for the sedan vs. 4.7 for this and the sedan version). It also came with a roof made of carbon fiber carried over from the E46 CSL, allowing its weight to be further reduced.
