This Los Angeles house was actually in the news when a car lost control and slammed into the retaining wall and again when Barker succeeded in having his Hollywood home designated a historic-cultural monument by the city of Los Angeles. Approved in 2000, the now landmark home was built in 1929. At 5,000-square-foot house, with four bedrooms and maid's quarters, it is a perfect example of Spanish Colonial Revival style. Built and developed by the late Charles Toberman, known by some as Mr. Hollywood for making such landmarks as Grauman's Chinese, Egyptian theaters, and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

Barker’s impressive net worth is estimated at some $70 Million with an annual income somewhere near $10 Million. In 2010, Barker donated $5 million to the animal activist group Sea Shepherd Conservation Society which was used to fund a ship which now intercepts and interrupt Japanese whaling boats. The boat was named the "My Bob Barker" intrestingly enough. He also donated $2.5 million to PETA to help build their Los Angeles headquarters which is now called the "Bob Barker Building". Way to put that money to good use, Bob!
