"A 12-ft. tall fiberglass statue of Big Boy was cruelly modified last week by racist vandals outside a restaurant in Gross Pointe Woods, Michigan. Police were investigating how the pale mascot of the Big Boy food chain was painted brown, the letter "N" replacing the "B" in "Big."

After discovering the attack, horrified owner Dan Curius immediately removed the "N." His customers and staff, representing a mix of ethnicities, have been supportive. Curius said this was the first time anything like this had ever happened to his Big Boy. He plans restore the statue within the week. "
