On Friday 5th April 2024 at 09:54 UTC, Mike G3VQQ, a radio amateur from West Yorkshire in the north of England, made contact with Bernd DL2DXA/P, a radio amateur from Germany, who was operating from Bosel und Elbhänge nördlich Meißen FFH (DLFF-1157), on the 30m amateur radio band. Bernd made a total of 243 contacts while at the reserve.
Bosel und Elbhänge nördlich Meißen FFH (DLFF-1157), is a protected area of 157 hectares, located in the valley of the river Elbe in the east of Germany. The area was designated as a Special Area of Conservation under the EU's Habitats Directive in 2011 and is part of the Natura 2000 network.
Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
