The Brewster House dates back to 1665 and was home to six generations of Brewsters. During the Revolution, Joesph Brewster operated the house as a tavern and general store, entertaining British troops. Caleb Brewster, Joseph's cousin no doubt visited the establishment as a spy for George Washington in the Culper Ring.
