Bridge of Sighs

Bridge of Sighs (Birds Eye)
This is the only enclosed bridge on the River Cam. Built in 1831, this structure was meant to connect the New Court to St. John's College. The purpose of enclosing the bridge was to keep out students from other colleges, for there is an understated rivalry between the city's colleges.
