Driving for Rahal Letterman Racing, American race car driver Buddy Rice won the Indianapolis 500 on May 30, 2004. The race was shortened to 450 miles after a tornado-producing storm swept through the area. This was the first Indy 500 victory for a Honda-powered car.

This car is on display at the Honda Collection Hall exhibit at Twin Ring Motegi.
