Burano roman bridge

In the valley of Burano, you can cross the river in Burano on a 2,000-year old Roman bridge: Bridge Grosso. Divided into two arches of about 7 meters with battery central breakwater 5,60 mt out of the water of the river with heavy blocks of stone, carnelian, origin from nearby quarries, arranged and stacked to dry, carefully cut and machined for perfect fit. Roadway and parapets give a width of 32 Roman feet (about 6.5 m). The bridge was built in the Augustan age as many other minor witnesses along the valley of Burano.
