Nothing remains of the track, which was completely torn down in August 2005. Originally a 1/4 mile dirt oval track, it was enlarged to 3/8 mile and paved in the mid-60's.

In april 15 of 2003, El Cajon Speedway promoter Steve Brucker was murdered thus causing the closing of Cajon speedway in 2005
