Dumoulinkazerne: In 1937, with the construction of this barracks it is started, as permanent verblijfplaats of the genius troops which stayed up to that moment on altitude 50. At the moment of the mobilisation in august 1939 stood the airframe of the bldg. there, but was the barracks not yet finished. After the fightings at east of Amersfoort the first got and the fifth regiment hussars in the evening of 12 May the command to withdraw behind the Grebbelinie and to collect themselves on the genius barracks at Soesterberg. There they stayed up to the evening of the next day, whereupon they got the command to withdraw itself to its columns. The German occupiers continued the activities to the dumoulin barracks, which was nearly immediately taken in use. In 1940-1941 they carried out additional bebouwing, on barracks area, but particularly at south of it, where a vehicle park and a ammunition park appeared where on the spot formerly camp altitude 50 was. In particularly the last 2 war years of age several bldg. were damaged bombardments and cannonadings. In May 1945 names the Canadians their residence, but the convalescence activities started just in the winter of ' 45/46 after the departure of the Canadians. The Dutch genius came after the war in the barracks, and established here Genie-school for the training of the framework and specialists. Particularly the mine school and the camouflage school had been confessed here of. For the rest the equipment troops used the barracks for the training of man sheep for the retransmission to India.
