Central Station

Antwerp, Belgium (BE)
The Central station (Dutch: Antwerpen-Centraal, French: Anvers-Central) is a NMBS/SNCB train station in Antwerp, Belgium.

Since 1998, renovation are being made to the station to increase its capacity. A tunnel was created in the neighbourhood east of the station, that will allow for HSL 4 and HSL-Zuid trains to effectivily travel North-South through Antwerp without having to turn (as is the case with the current International Train Amsterdam-Brussels). Construction is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2006.
