The 22 foot bronze statue created by Jose Delarra overlooks the Ernesto Guevara Sculptural Complex and Mausoleum. Che's remains were reburied with full military honors on October 17, 1997. There is also an eternal flame lit by Fidel Castro in Che's memory.
