Chebarkul Lake - Russian Meteor Impact Site (2013-02-15)

Chebarkul’, Russian Federation (RU)
Three impact sites were found. Two were in an area near Chebarkul Lake and the other is some 80 kilometres (50 miles) further to the northwest, near the town of Zlatoust. One of the fragments that struck near Chebarkul left a crater with a diameter of six metres (20 feet). A hole was found by a local fisherman on the surface of the frozen Chebarkul Lake, probably a result of the impact.
