Chester Bennington, the renowned musician, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist lived here before his recent passing. He was the lead vocalist in the wildly successful nurock band "Linkin Park". This was the final home of the American rock singer and songwriter. Public records show he purchased the 5 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom, 3,956 square ft house in May 2017. He committed suicide by hanging in one of the home's bedrooms less than two months later in July 2017.

Bennington was a two-time Grammy winner with Linkin Park. He also sang with the Stone Temple Pilots and Dead by Sunrise. At the time of his death, he was married to former model Talinda Bentley, with whom he had three children.

Chester committed suicide by hanging on July 20, 2017 at the age of 41, after a lifelong battle with depression. This past January, Bennington's widow asked fans to stop leaving flowers, letters and other tributes to her husband at the house. A steady stream of followers have flown to the residence in Palos Verdes Estates ever since Bennington took his life, leaving flowers and notes close to the driveway of the suburban Los Angeles home.

According to Zillow, this property was sold last month to an unconfirmed buyer. The spacious home was finally sold in late August for $2,165,000, likely a needed step for his family to move on. According to public records, Bennington purchased the house in May 2017 for $2.4 million, so it was ultimately sold at a loss.

Linkin Park paid tribute to Bennington last October with an emotional three-hour show that featured numerous guests joining the band onstage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The band has yet to announce whether it intends to continue without Bennington.

Over the course of his career, Bennington earned a net worth of $30 Million at the time of his death. Bennington rose to fame quickly with a smash hit debut album, Hybrid Theory, in 2000. The album was a massive success. It was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005, becoming the best-selling debut album of the decade as well as one of the few albums to achieve that level of success.
