On Wednesday 7th September 2022, Paul K9PM/P, a radio amateur from Box Elder, SD reached the summit of Cinder Mountain and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 66 contacts in total working on the 60, 40, 20, 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Cinder Mountain is 2379 metres (7805 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
