Born and reared in Southern California, B.A. degree from UCLA, served in U.S. Army and California National Guard. Married with three children and four grandchildren. Monterey County property owner since 1985 and a resident here since 1995. Now retired. Career in commercial real estate development, leasing, and management with two major Orange County land owners. Founding partner in the Macerich Company, an $8B (2012) owner /developer/operator of malls in the U.S. Among civic activities: director of UCLA Alumni Association, California Business Properties Association, Monterey County Fair Board, Monterey County Grand Jury , chairman of the planning commission and city councilman of the city of Placentia in Orange County, treasurer and director of Carmel Heritage Association.
