The Church of San Xiao is dedicated to the patron saint of the city, it has the category of co-cathedral of the diocese of Mondoñedo-Ferrol, a title it has held since 1959, it was built at the end of the 18th century according to a project by the engineer and marine architect Julián Sánchez Bort in 1766; It is built in a strict neoclassical style, with a cruciform plan and organized around a dome that is supported by four thick Ionic pillars to which open chapels covered with barrel vaults and fallen vaults to the outside. The complex is flanked by two slender towers with four openings under semicircular arches. The exterior of the domes that top the towers are made of granite ashlar masonry.
