Around 2am on 24 JUN 2021, the oceanside half of Champlain Towers South Condo, a 12-story 130 unit building constructed in 1981 completely collapsed. The property is located in the town of Surfside, just north Miami Beach.
As of 15 JUL, there are a confirmed 97 deceased with at least another 8 believed to be in the rubble.
