Huge steel tubes twist and turn over the railroad tracks along Elliott Avenue West in a double helix that recalls the ladder-like structure of DNA.
Designed by Johnson Architecture and KPFF Engineers, it's an apt metaphor as the gateway and a skybridge to a $625 million research and development complex for the world's largest biotechnology company, Amgen, on Terminal 88 and Pier 89 in the south area of Interbay.
