On Sunday 28th August 2022, Dean K2JB a radio amateur from Asheville, NC reached the summit of Craggy Dome and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 6 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF amateur radio band.
The summit of Craggy Dome is 1859 metres (6099 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
