Crawford family murder (2012-01-14) (Birds Eye)
A family dispute in this house led to the deaths of two men.

At about 9am on January 14, 2012, 24-year old race car driver Donnie Ray Crawford III was shot and killed by his 74-year old grandfather Daniel Garcia. Crawford's parents, Jodie and Donnie, came to their son's defense and in the scuffle, Garcia was killed. Both parents suffered minor injuries.

Crawford was competing in the prestigious Chili Bowl midget racing event held in nearby Tulsa that week. The 2012 Chili Bowl attracted 264 of the best short track drivers in the sport, including NASCAR star Tony Stewart. Crawford earned the 2007 Chili Bowl Rookie of the Year by finishing in fifth place in the huge field of drivers. He was to begin his first semester at Oklahoma University two days after his death.

In 2008, he was credited with saving the life of a 12-year old girl. Her race car was engulfed in flames, and he pulled her out.

Garcia had served 10 months in prison for assault with a dangerous weapon in 2005.
