On Friday 9th September 2022, Elena EA4DOS/P and Alejandro EA4DON/P, a couple radio amateurs from Spain reached the summit of Cuchillón and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 36 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 30 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Cuchillón is 2173 metres (7129 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
