The Derwent Pencil Museum is home to the biggest colouring pencil in the world. It was completed on the 28th May 2001. It measures 7.91 metres which is the equivalent to 25ft 11.5 inches and weighs 446.36 kg equivalent to 984.05 pounds. The longest pencil was the idea of technical manager Barbara Murray.
