The Daimler SP250 was produced from 1959 to 1964, and cues from American cars can be seen in this fiberglass open-top roadster, including tailfins. Power came from a 2.5 liter V8 engine producing 140 horsepower, and was originally known as the Daimler Dart before the start of production. It can reach a top speed of up to 123.7 miles per hour and reach 60 miles per hour from a standstill in 8.9 seconds. According to Daimler, sales from SP250s would be able to generate more than 700,000 British Pound, and 2/3 of sales would occur in the U.S. market. A few SP250s possessing an economical automatic transmission were used as police cars in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand to catch speeders.
